Excitement Overload

I'm almost completely positive that it's not humanly possible to contain all the excitement I'm feeling for the recent/upcoming happenings. I'm literally bubbling over with giddyness, rambling on to anyone who will listen about nothing and everything all at once.

First and foremost, my love's return is slowly and steadily approaching. 
::Pause for overdramatic exclamation::


EEEEE!!!!!!!!!YAYAYAYAYAYAYYYYYYYY!!!


The Homecoming planning has officially begun! I'm trying, but failing miserably, to keep the surprises to a minimum as to not overwhelm him... oh well---no one's perfect, right?!


Of course I can't go into much more detail about it other than that, but it is obviously something that consumes my thoughts constantly. All day, everyday. Day in and day out. 


And that's just putting it mildly. 

On top of that, I've just returned from a trip out to the East Coast to see my wonderful family and friends. This visit was WAY overdue and so necessary. I'm feeling so much better now that I've spent some time with the people who love and know me the best. 


Family is good for the soul :)

Expect to see pictures from this trip on my next post! As for right now, I'm going to return to my homecoming planning/daydreaming... ahh. Is it just me or are the minutes passing extra slowly?

Family and Friends are Everything

This weekend---heck this week---has been amazing!

I spent the 4th with my extended Azzam family, which is ALWAYS a good time (the pictures below should prove that), and I even got to see my little sissy M once more before she left Cali!

They even surprised me with a birthday cake! A carvel ice cream birthday cake, nonetheless.

While enjoying some kick-ass california weather, grilled-up cuisine, an alcoholic beverage of choice, and each others company, I was told easily 32 times that Mr. and Mrs. Azzam were ready to be pseudo grandparents and to, more or less, start popping those little ones out.

..........uh. What.

That's a good one, Uncle! Though, I'm sure glad to know that once that day does come (a day far, far away) we'll have a sitter willing and ready! :)

Then this weekend, my fabulous friends J and Jill (another fellow blogger, Iron & Sunshine) took me to dinner and a movie to celebrate my birthday! They even got me some phenomenal cupcakes (which we snuck into the theatre to devour while seeing Magic Mike....Best idea ever)

Then, as to complete this trifecta of birthday perfection, today I came home to a birthday delivery from my man. GAH! Love him!

World's Best Husband Award Goes to...

And without sounding too much like an advertisement, can I just say that Edible Arrangements knows their shit. I mean, chocolate covered bananas and strawberries? AAAAAh-mazing! Freaking. Amazing.

So obviously, it's a well-known fact that I have a sweet tooth and if it wasn't before it sure as heck is now. Not even sorry about it.

All joking aside, I am so blessed to have so many amazing people in my life, and for that I am so grateful. This week has been the absolute best and it is solely because of the wonderful people I've mentioned.

And to top everything off, the official countdown for my man's return home has begun!!!!!
Happiness overload---I'm so excited I think my heart may explode! Or my face will go into spasms from smiling too much. Either way, I'll take it!

M Takes Cali!

.....And it's July. Seriously where has the time gone?
Happy birthday to you America! And to me too! We shall celebrate accordingly...

In other news---my beautiful little sis, whom we shall refer to as M, came to visit and stayed with me all last week! EEEEEE! I love that little nugget :)

We obviously had a fabulous time as we are both fabulous and lead fabulous lives no matter the location and/or circumstance.

I kid, but seriously, I love visitors. And I love M. Therefore, I loved every minute of last week.

Whether we were exploring all the various beaches cali has to offer, window shopping in La Jolla, or just kicking it PJ-style in mi casa with some phenom dinner course and a healthy-sized glass o' wine, we were livin' the good life. I only wish those glorious days could have lasted longer...

Celebrating "Me" Time

Recently, with everything that’s been going on, I’ve spent a lot of time alone. And to my surprise; I absolutely love it.


Not only do I love it.... I NEED it. It's become a necessity in my life to preserve my sanity for as long as possible. And who knows how long that'll last....


I make plans to hang out with myself. and often. 


May sound creepy and lame, but it's totally not. 


Catching up on books, experimenting in the kitchen, re-decorating.... All are best when done alone.
I've found that left to my own devices, I can come up with some kick-ass ideas/creations/meals. 


Which, coincidentally, works out well for me seeing as I'm married to a marine. There's definitely going to be a lot more alone time in my future.  

Ironically, back in the day spending time alone was not a positive. It was dreaded and normally caused me some level of anxiety over what I was possibly missing out on. 


Not sure what changed specifically, but that girl is looooooooooonnggg gone. Just me, myself, and I.

Granted, there is this little guy to keep me company.....
